Tyler Matthew Sullens, 27, of Carbondale, Illinois, passed away on February 8, 2025. He was born on September 20, 1997, in Murphysboro, Illinois, to Kevin Lee and Angela Kay (Mortie) Sullens.
Tyler grew up in Murphysboro and attended Murphysboro High School, where he was a proud Red Devil. He had a deep passion for music and loved working on audio speakers, always finding joy in perfecting sound systems and sharing his love of music with others.
Tyler leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his beloved son, Axel Sullens; his parents, Angela Sullens and Kevin (Diane) Sullens; his brothers, Adam Tucker, Justin, Brian, Kevin Jr. (Haley), Christopher (Sarah), and Brandon (Morgan) Sullens; his sisters, Haley Stone, Jessica (Evan) Rothstein, and Ashley (Alex) Sullens; his uncles, Michael and Mark Mortie; and his grandfather, Norman Mortie. He also leaves behind his life partner, Jackie Sullens, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Diane Mortie and Allie and Bill Sullens.
Tyler’s kind spirit, love for music, and dedication to his family and friends will forever be remembered. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
