Thomas Eugene Edwards Sr.

Thomas Eugene Edwards Sr., of West Frankfort, Illinois, passed away on August 15, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at the Marion VA, after years of battling heart complications and other health challenges. Born on February 28, 1944, in Beardstown, Illinois, Thomas was the beloved son of Herbert and Elva Ada (Fanshier) Edwards.

Thomas is preceded in death by his cherished wife, Janet Louise (Hill) Edwards; his son, Michael Everett Edwards; and his great-grandson, Levi Edwards.

He leaves behind a loving family who will continue to honor his memory:

• Son: Thomas Eugene Edwards Jr., and his wife, Stephanie Ann (Huhn) Edwards. Their daughters: Jennifer Ann Edwards, Amanda Kay (Hendron) Edwards and her husband Matt, and Cindy Christina (Gutierrez) Edwards and her husband Rolando.

• Son: William Herbert Edwards, and his wife, Roberta Sue (Smiley) Edwards. Their sons: Daniel Kenneth Edwards and his wife Casey Amelia (Soper) Edwards, and Nicholas James Edwards and his wife Vanessa Renee (Lareau) Edwards.

• Daughter: Ginger Lee (Edwards) Voorhis, wife of the late Brian Voorhis. Their children: Ashley Sherman Voorhis.

• Son: Michael Edwards (deceased), and Tina Christine (Edwards) Dobson and her husband Edward, Krystal Joy (Edwards) Antolik and her husband Daniel, and Bobbi Jo Edwards, and his two sons, Michael Everett Edwards Jr. and Justin Edwards along with 25 great-grandchildren who will carry forward his legacy

Thomas Eugene Edwards Sr. will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his resilience in the face of life’s challenges, and the love he shared with those around him. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
