Randy L. Wood

Randy Lee Wood, 71, of Murphysboro Illinois, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

Randy was born on March 10,1953 to Robert and Frances (Lobretto) Wood in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

He married Diane Imhoff and to this union two children were born, Kevin Andrew and Courtney Leandra.  He later married Carla Lilley on December 30, 1988.

Randy was an electrician by trade and enjoyed working on computers and small engines. He was always happy to try to fix something for someone. Despite his multiple health problems, Randy was known to be mischievous and always joking with his doctors, nurses and caregivers.

He is survived by ex-wife Diane; son Kevin (Mellissa); daughter Courtney (Michael) Harmeling; and two beloved grandchildren, Alexanna Wood and August Harmeling; and one brother Rodney (Brenda) Wood.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Frances Wood; and wife, Carla Wood.

Randy will be missed by his family, friends and neighbors.

The family would like to thank the medical professionals of St. Joseph Memorial Hospital, Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, and Barnes-Jewish Hospital for the loving care they provided to Randy throughout his medical battles.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 18, 2024, 2:00 pm at Southern Cremation and Burial Services, 1017 N. 14 th St., Murphysboro Illinois with Brother Harry Aldridge, officiating.
