Patricia Ann Stover, who loved to be called “Nana” by her grandchildren and great grandchildren, departed this life with her loving family by her side on February 20, 2022, at the age of 67.
Patricia Ann was born in Biloxi, MS, on February 14, 1955 to David and Lillian Jones.
Patricia Ann was a wonderful mother to Donna D. Jones of Savannah, GA, Wilcox O. Yorama of St. Louis, MO, Christy E. Yorama of Orlando, FL and Olajide E. Marshall of Savannah, GA. She raised and empowered her children as a single parent in Carbondale, IL; to be independent while she worked as an Independent Home Nurse Aide.
Patricia Ann was known for her zest for life, laughter, her compassion for others and sense of humor. She enjoyed experiencing new adventures, she loved trying new food, listening to music, reading and meeting new people. She always made a friend wherever she worked or lived. Her friends or her children’s friends became lifelong family.
Patricia Ann found true companionship and married John W. Stover. They enjoyed watching movies and listening to old school music together.
Patricia Ann leaves to cherish her loving husband, four children, and six grandchildren, Patricia Hill Golden, Jayla R. Hill, Cynclaire Marshall, Kyla Yorama, Lanisa Marshall, and Amar Marshall; three great-grandchildren, Kaidence Hill, DeMaurion Jordan Jr., and Eva Jordan; three nieces, Lynette Cripps and Sherry McCoy both of San Francisco, CA and Gwen Johnson of Gulfport, MS; three nephews, Louis Jones Jr., Paul and Peter McCoy both of San Francisco, CA and a host of other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Evelma McCoy; one brother, Louis Jones Sr; one niece, Kim McCoy.
