Michael Rush

At the dear sweet age of 68, Mr. Michael Rush returned to his heavenly home on September 13, 2022.

Michael was born July 3, 1964 in Chicago, Illinois the son of the late Albert C. and Gertrude (Anderson) Rush.

Michael, who was best known as “Mike”, accepted Christ at an early age while attending Church of God and Son. He went to school at Tilden High School in Chicago, Illinois. He made himself home in Cairo, Illinois in 1995. He was employed at ER&R in Mounds, Illinois. He was avid landscaper and enjoyed being outdoors.

He leaves to cherish his loving and beautiful wife, Brenda Rush. He was loved by six outstanding children: Michelle Rush, Chunda Rush, Michael Rush Jr., Kanesha Rush, Makeem Rush, and Reginald Rush. He was blessed with three bonus children: Paris (Tasha) Blake, Brandi Blake, and Tequilla (Gus) Colbroth. He had two special grandchildren: Alexxus Blake and Antonio Pratt Jr. He had six siblings who remained by his side: Sheila, Marsha, Wendell, Burton, Luna, and Mitchell Rush. He also leaves behind a host of family, friends, and business partners.

He preceded in death by 3 brothers, 1 sister and 1 precious son, Antonio Pratt.
