Melissa Anna Przybocki

Melissa Anna Prybocki, 42, passed away too soon on February 26, 2025, in Carbondale, Illinois.

Melissa was a truly unique soul—intelligent, kind, and unlike anyone else. With a generous heart, she was always willing to help others, even when she had little herself. Whether cooking a meal for a stranger or lending a hand to those in need, Melissa never hesitated to show compassion. Her giving spirit and warm presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Melissa now joins in heaven her beloved grandmothers, Isabel Ramirez and Kathy Przybocki; her father, Keith Przybocki Sr.; and her uncle, Jaime Ramirez.

She leaves behind her cherished children: Milo Asra Onyx-Novak, David Chapin Jr., Alexander Christian, and Carolyn Rose. Melissa is also survived by her mother, Anna Broker, and Anna’s husband, Anthony Broker, as well as her godmother, Sandra Tomschin.

Her siblings—Patti Wiseman (Taborn), Jorge Taborn (and his wife, Tara Taborn), Jesus Taborn, Keith Bryan Przybocki, and Evelyn Aden (and her husband, Nick Aden)—will forever hold her memory close.

Melissa is also survived by her beloved nieces and nephews: Alexia Taborn, Maykayla Taborn, Taryn McClusky, Jack McClusky, and Dakota Przybocki.

She is remembered by the fathers of her children, David Chapin Sr. and Loren Burgenson, along with her uncle Daniel Przybocki, her aunt Amanda Ortiz, and dear friends Maria Murillo, Azucena Huerta, and the Gonzalez family.

Melissa’s kindness, strength, and love will live on in the hearts of those lucky enough to know her. She was one of a kind and will never be forgotten.

Final arrangements were lovingly entrusted to Southern Cremation and Burial Services of Murphysboro, Illinois.
