On Wednesday, November 6th The Lord called LC McDade home to a place of rest and peace.
LC McDade, was born on April 20, 1965, in Belzoni, Mississippi. He was the cherished son of Walter McDade Sr. and Jeanette Brown McDade. Raised in Carbondale, Illinois, LC attended Carbondale Community High School. He frequently attended New Zion Missionary Church, where his family shared meaningful moments, including his siblings’ baptisms, and where his mother served as the Mother of the Church.
He was known for his joyful spirit, gift for making others laugh, and entrepreneurial nature. He had a talent for finding opportunities and took pride in his hard work, always eager to provide for his family. Known for his warmth and humor, LC enjoyed playing bingo and treasured the time spent with friends and family. Above all, he loved his children and family deeply, cherishing each shared moment.
LC is survived by his eight children: Cassandra Farr-McDade of San Francisco, California; Lavell McDade of Los Angeles, California; Jameira Harris-McDade of Johnston City, Illinois; Shakirra Harris-McDade of Carterville, Illinois; Jadyn Thomas-McDade of Chicago, Illinois; LC McDade Jr. of Chicago, Illinois; LC-onna McDade of St. Louis, Missouri; and Janessa McDade of Las Vegas, New Mexico. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Azariyah Ivy, daughter of Shakirra Harris-McDade. Additionally, he leaves behind his two brothers, Cleveland McDade and Harrison McDade of Carbondale, Illinois; and three sisters, Mary McDade of Carbondale, Illinois, Shirley Campbell, and Amy (Robert) Owens of Carbondale, Illinois.
LC also leaves behind his life partner, Rosemary Rivera; a host of beloved nieces and nephews, including Kakeya McDade, Steven Cawthon, Antonio Walker, Gerrice Armour, Brandon McDade, Cadedra McDade, Donovan Armour-Mcdade, Erico Passmore, Zaria McDade, Shai’Heem McDade, Jakeem McDade, Jah’Keem McDade, Isnia Taylor, Ishara Taylor, Dewey Taylor, Cyrah Taylor, Mariah Owens, Robert Owens., Corsica McDade, and Anita Gails-McDade, as well as a host of great-nieces and great-nephews and a host of great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter McDade Sr.; his mother, Jeanette McDade; his brothers, Walter McDade Jr., Larry McDade, and Billy McDade; his sister, Rosie Marie McDade; his paternal and maternal grandparents; and his beloved aunts, Cleotha McGee and Ethel Everett.
LC will be deeply missed by both family and friends.
Final arrangements were lovingly entrusted to Southern Cremation and Burial Services of Murphysboro, Illinois.
