James William Peebles Sr., 82, of Valier, Illinois passed away peacefully in his home on August 7, 2024, at 3:57 p.m. surrounded by his loving family.
James was born in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio on July 20, 1942, to Earl and Alta (King) Peebles. He received his Ph.D. in music while living in Arizona. He loved playing the saxophone and played with the band Chicago. He excelled in woodwind instruments and was named the best woodwind musician in Arizona.
James was a successful owner of a trucking company. He was also a mortgage broker and had various other jobs as well. He enjoyed racing sprint cars and watching all kinds of races but most of all he loved watching his son race motocross.
He is survived by son, James W. (Deanna) Peebles Jr.; stepsons, Michael and Paul Walker; brother, Preston Peebles; stepbrothers, Dave and Jeff Anderson; grandson, James William Peebles III; step grandchildren, Michaela Copple and Joseph Gipson and great grandchildren, Landyn, Lillianah and Laken.
James W. Peebles Sr. will be sincerely missed by his family and friends.
Professional services were Entrusted to Southern Cremation and Burial Services of Murphysboro, Illinois.
