Elizabeth “Beth” Mae Cagle, 67, of Marion, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2024, surrounded by her beloved family.
Born on January 31, 1957, in Marion, Beth was the cherished daughter of James and Harriet (Cook) Cagle. She graduated from Marion High School before embarking on a journey that took her across the country. Her travels led her to Tempe, Arizona, where she forged lifelong friendships, and later to Oshkosh, Wisconsin, where she embraced Catholicism and began her own family with the birth of her daughter.
Returning to Marion, Beth devoted 20 years to helping families through Addus Children and Family Services. Her compassion extended beyond her work; she was a passionate animal lover, especially fond of cats. Her greatest joy, however, was her family. She delighted in spending time with her grandchildren, Kendal and Olivia, crafting recipes, creating songs, and sharing dance parties. Saturdays were reserved for making hearty breakfasts and enjoying cozy TV time with them. Being “Mae Mae” was her most treasured role, and she relished every moment of it.
Beth is survived by her daughter, Jamie Allen; her grandson, Kendal Cowper; her granddaughter, Olivia Cagle-Allen, all of Marion; and her extended family, including Kathleen Murray of Neenah, WI.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
Beth’s kindness, warmth, and dedication to her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
