David Wayne Thompson

David Wayne Thompson, 58, of Murphysboro passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2024. David was born on February 25, 1966, to Howard and Brenda (Smith) Thompson in Murphysboro, Illinois.

David grew up in southern Illinois and graduated from Herrin High School where he was a proud Herrin Tiger. He later married the love of his life Dawn Lawrence. Although they were divorced, they stayed partners and Dawn remained by his side. David’s favorite hobby was fishing.

He is survived by his significant other, Dawn; mother, Brenda Taylor of Frankfort, IL; sisters, Julie (Steph) Lazorchuk, Angela (Richard) Simmons, Shelly (Carlos) Gonzales; Aunts, uncles, and other beloved relatives.

David was preceded in death by his father, Howard Wayne Thompson, maternal and paternal grandparents and two brothers Byram and Michael.

He will be sorely missed by both his family and friends.

Gravesite services will be held at Tower Grove Cementary, Murphysboro, Illinois on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 2:00 p.m., .
