Chartez D. Phillips

Chartez Diamond Phillips, age 27, departed this life on February 4, 2025. He was born on September 4, 1997, to Sandra Robinson and Charles Phillips Jr. in Chicago, Illinois. As the youngest of five siblings, Chartez was a special child whose bright spirit and kind heart made him unforgettable to all who knew him.

Chartez attended Joshua Johnston Fine Arts and Design Charter School in Chicago, Illinois, graduating with the Class of 2016. He later pursued higher education at John A. Logan College in Southern Illinois and was currently attending Daley College in Chicago, where he was excitedly working toward becoming a certified electrician. Alongside his studies, Chartez was actively rehabbing apartments with the GRO community, embracing new challenges and opportunities with enthusiasm.

Chartez was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed. He leaves behind his beloved mother, Sandra Robinson, and father, Charles Phillips Jr.; his three children, Kailani, Kasen, and Chartez Jr.; and his cherished sisters Shanice, Jacqueline, Jasmine, and Charmaine. He is also survived by his brothers, Charles III, Lionell, Torian Sr., and Cornelius; his grandmother, Antoinette; the love of his life, Kristen; aunts Tammia, Sherrise, and Tanisha; uncles Tony Jr. and Earis; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Chartez’s memory will live on through the countless lives he touched with his warmth, love, and boundless potential.

Final arrangements were lovingly entrusted to Southern Cremation and Burial Services of Murphysboro, Illinois.
