Allan C. Pangborn

Allan Curtis Pangborn, 70, of Winterset, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at Herrin Hospital of Herrin, Illinois.

He was born on February 11, 1953 in Jamestown, New York, son of the late Kenneth and Norma Pangborn.

Al attended Jamestown High School Class of 1971 and was a Veteran of the United States Navy.

He was a member of the Lakewood American Legion.

Al enjoyed hunting, fishing, and his family. He was known as being a real character and loved joking around with people.

He is survived by his wife, Rachel Costa Pangborn, married on February 9, 1974; his son, Allan (Kim) Pangborn of Massachusetts; two grandchildren, Madison and Mason Grady; siblings, Mary Lee (Gil) Beardsley and Marilyn Delaboy; sister-in-law, Paula (Jim) Roncka Quinn, Norma (Dave) Palmer, Lori Costa, Elaine (Jaime) Medeiros; brother-in-law, Richard (Chris) Costa and Marc Costa; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Kenneth Pangborn; one sister, Marsha Pangborn; two sister-in-laws, Patricia Jordan and Donna Costa; four brother-in-laws, Ellis Delahoy, Michael, Peter and Paul Costa.

A family ceremony will be held at a later date.
