Alexander Lewis

Alexander Lewis, 72, passed away unexpectedly on March 16, 2025, while visiting his sister Peggy and brother-in-law Larry in Illinois. Born in East St. Louis, Illinois, to Lorene and Cubie Ray Lewis. Alex was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who lived life to the fullest.
Alex built a long and successful career as a construction foreman in Colorado, retiring after 35 years with Stresscon. A true "jack of all trades", he was affectionately called "MacGyver" by his family for his ability to fix anything. He found joy in fishing, four-wheeling, fast cars, and traveling—especially with Lori by his side. His love for animals grew over the years, and he adored his
pets: dogs Ginger and Waylan, and cats Miss Kitty, Rosalie, Romeo, and Precious.

Reflecting on his life, Alex often said, "We’ve already lived a good, full life." To which Lori would reply, "And we’re not done yet."

He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Lori Anne Lewis; his sons, Eric, Shawn, Miloe, and Matthew; and his cherished granddaughter, Rayna Lorene Lewis. He also leaves behind his sister Peggy Robinson (Larry), his brother Phil Lewis (Shannon), and his nieces Valerie, Piper, Tamika (Rick), Jackie, and Mandy (Jeff), and beloved nephews Justin, Quinn, James, Porter and Philip.

Though his time was cut short, Alex’s adventurous spirit, love for his family, and countless memories will remain in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Celebration of life will be held at Phil and Shannon Lewis’s residence located in Redford, Missouri.

Final Arrangements were Lovingly Entrusted to Southern Cremation and Burial Services of Murphysboro, Illinois.
